Project Manager - Food For Life Get Togethers (Part Time, Contract) Home/Field Based (with national travel) £ per hour Royal Voluntary Service an innovative charity that focuses on inspiring people to give the gift of voluntary service to support the NHS and older people at home and in the community. We are now looking for a Project Manager to join our team on a part time basis working flexibly over 28 hours per week for a contract lasting until the 31st May 2023. This is an amazing opportunity for a project manager from a community development background to take the reins of a new programme that will bring people together over their love of food. Managing this innovative, nation-wide project, you will discover teams of passionate people, volunteers and members of the public who just need the right approach to bring them together and create something collectively amazing. You’ll be the catalyst that builds relationships, gets people talking and creates intergenerational bonds across communities. As a Project Manager, you will take the lead on a four year, volunteer-led project that will encourage and facilitate people to come together over food. You’ll be implementing the project and supporting the development of volunteer-led, food-based groups. This will involve mentoring, supporting and training volunteers to set up groups that meet the needs of their local communities. Specifically, you will: - Project manage the Food For Life Get Togethers programme - Ensure the programme delivers on KPIs for the budget and timeline - Travel to communities across the country to implement the project and deliver training - Work with partner programmes to ensure activities are delivered cohesively and learning and best practice is shared - Work within our existing volunteer-led branch model Interested? If so, you will need: - Proven project management skills gained within a fast paced development setting - Knowledge, experience and understanding of community development and engagement techniques as a way to grow locally volunteer co-ordinated groups - Proven experience of delivering ambitious targets on time and within budget - The ability to inspire motivate and sustain community action - A full driving licence Due to the nature of this role, the successful applicant will be subject to an Enhanced DBS with Adult & Child Barred List Check. Communicative and influential, as the Project Manager, you’ll have the ability to influence outcomes and manage your time effectively and efficiently. Passion for community action, the ability to impart information and a team player mentality will also be key. This is a part time role working 28 hours over four or five days per week (some flexibility will be required).
