They are a growing and complex business encompassing many skills and disciplines including design, fabrication, hire, AV, logistics, printing, warehousing, installation and more, creating a varied and interesting role for an ambitious finance professional.
It’s also an exciting time to join as they undertake a significant ERP investment in which the Head of Finance will work closely with the IT Director on the implementation project.
Head of Finance key responsibilities:
The role of Head of Finance with our client will be a critical member of the management team, reporting directly into the Managing Director. Leading a small but busy Finance team, primarily this role will be responsible for ensuring that all financial controls and procedures operate effectively, alongside preparing and presenting the required financial reports in line with in-House, Group and legal deadlines - including VAT returns, pensions and payroll and other Government reporting.
The ideal Head of Finance:
Will have a strong proven track record in a similar role within an SME. Experience of preparing monthly accounts, VAT returns and other Government reporting is essential, along with a proven track record of maintaining a cost control culture and coordinating, preparing and manging budgets. An advanced level of Excel knowledge is also essential, and working knowledge of Navision and Sage payroll would also be desirable.
You will need to have keen eye for detail, excellent numerical and analytical skills, and strong communications skills, with the ability to effectively discuss the numbers with non-finance colleagues in order to influence decision making and strategy in the business.
A background in a multi-discipline environment (manufacturing, construction etc) is desirable, as is having experience in a similar sized business.
In return they can offer a basic starting salary of circa £40,000 - £45,000 depending upon experience plus benefits including: Management bonus, PRP, Pension with employer contribution, Health Care and Private Medical schemes and Death in Service.
Flexibility is essential, as at peak times there will be a requirement to work additional hours to ensure that their customer needs are met.
