As an integral part of the finance team you will be responsible for preparing, developing and analysing financial information to assist in managerial planning and commercial decision making.
Ultimately responsible for maintaining an efficient and accurate finance function and ensuring transparency and efficiency in all transactions, the Management Accountant will maintain financial policies and controls and provide high quality support service by liaising with Management colleagues on all aspects of finance.
Preparation of monthly management accounts and commentary for review with the Finance Manager within the reporting deadlines including preparation of profit and loss accounts, prepayments, accruals, intercompany balances and all other Balance Sheet reconciliations.
Prepare quarterly profit forecasts as required for submission to Group Finance and update the rolling monthly operating profit forecast for review with the UK General Manager. Analyse the prior month forecast against actuals.
Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and liaise with cost centre managers to provide information and consolidate data from all areas of the business.
Provide relevant ongoing financial analysis and guidance to all other areas of the business, including inventory reporting, sales and margin analysis and cost centre reviews in order to develop financial understanding and aid decision making.
Prepare monthly VAT returns for submission to HMRC.
Maintain the fixed asset register and ensure all expenditure is tracked against approved capital expenditure forms.
Prepare weekly cashflow forecasts for review with the Finance Manager.
Assist with preparation of statutory accounts for Year End and liaise with the Auditors during the process.
Project Management - improve and maintain reporting and accounting controls to ensure that financial data for live projects are delivered satisfy the needs of both Finance and Project Management.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
Working in a deadline orientated financial organisation.
Ability to create and use complex financial models for development and analysis of the business.
