IT Support Engineer, 2nd/3rd Line, Abingdon, £30,000 - £35,000 + training & benefits:

Our leading technology provider acts as a virtual IT department for small to medium sized business clients. They provide full network solutions and vital service desk support for users in the UK and around the globe. Due to continued growth, a rare opportunity has arisen for a Senior IT Support Engineer to join their talented technical team.

On a daily basis the IT Support Engineer will take technical ownership of 2nd & 3rd line customer IT infrastructure issues trying to resolve them with the agreed SLA’s. You will troubleshoot effectively either remotely or by carrying out an onsite visit. You be an escalation point for 1st line support providing assistance, advice and guidance where required. There will be additional project work for to get involved with and you’ll provide clients with advice and recommendations for maintaining a reliable network infrastructure.

The Candidate

* Strong Knowledge of Microsoft Windows 7/8/10 and Microsoft Server 2008/2012

* Office 365 administration and support

* Networking experience (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, DHCP, DNS)

* Knowledge of firewalls (general IP routing and NAT concepts)

* 2nd Line Support experience – preferably within an outsourced IT business or a small/medium business.

* MCITP or MCSA or equivalent experience

Additional Skills

* Managed Services experience

* Virtualisation

* Citrix support experience

* Network security

* SharePoint support and configuration
