A great new opportunity has arisen for an experience Accounts Assistant to join one of our clients on a full-time, permanent basis. You will be working within a small Accounts team based at their site in Alfreton, Derbyshire.

To be considered for the role, you’ll require the following essentials:

Experience in a similar role
General accounting, bookkeeping and payroll knowledge
Previous experience in using accountancy software
Practical experience of using Excel spreadsheets and word

If successful, your main focus of the role will be maintaining the day to day functioning of the Finance Department

Within this position, you’ll also be:

Ensuring all sales orders that are available have been invoiced for month end reporting
Performing bank reconciliations and quarterly supplier statement reconciliations
Compiling and posting selected journals for month end reporting including payroll & accruals
Overseeing purchase ledger processing and accounting/Payment of suppliers in accordance with supplier terms
Accounting for direct debit payments and control & accounting for petty cash
Accounting for all customer receipts and correct allocation against invoices
Compliance with financial internal control standards
Cash Management & Supervision of Working Capital
Credit control and provision of regular updates on the credit position of all customers
Making purchase payments in accordance with supplier terms and cash forecast
Invoicing of all processing sales orders
Completing & filing accurate EC sales Listings
Preparing quarterly VAT return for review by Financial Controller UK
Performing Payroll Administration & Payments
Making appropriate deductions for CSA, Council tax arrears etc and pay over in a timely manner
Making appropriate pension deductions and pay over in a timely manner

Salary & Working Hours

Salary is up to £21,000 dependant on experience

Working hours are Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm
