AJ Chambers have an exclusive opportunity with a modern, forward-thinking and market leading independent firm in Cambridge who are looking to appoint a Partner Designate in a newly created, client facing position. For the right candidate our client can offer a leading role within the business over the coming years.

In this role you will have autonomy to manage an engaging portfolio and lead on maintaining and developing relationships with a well-established client base, ensuring timely delivery of general accounting and taxation services.

Core Duties:

  • Manage and develop a portfolio of clients
  • Lead on developing excellent client service and relationships with clients and the team
  • Manage the team to ensure Senior Management expectations are met on delivery and accuracy of work
  • Plan and monitor work and resources within an agreed budget to meet deadlines and targets set, including managing the billing and work in progress
  • Review accounts for quality and compliance ensuring completion of file and recording notes and review points
  • Take responsibility to coach and develop team members giving constructive feedback to enhance their skills and development
  • Participate in projects, contribute to team and business initiatives
  • Recruit, train and develop members of the team to ensure there are enough resources and skills in the team to meet current demand and planned growth
  • Work in collaboration with the team to share knowledge and ideas to improve communication, set team goals and recognise achievements
  • Carry out appraisals for team members to set appropriate objectives, review progress and develop skills
  • Build knowledge and awareness of all aspects of the business services to help identify opportunities to cross sell services to clients and communicate this to the team

Individual Specification:

  • Strong interpersonal skills to manage internal relationships for clients and colleagues
  • Skilled at dealing with business owners and advising them on a range of commercial issues
  • ACCA/ACA/CTA qualified accountant with experience within a Manager capacity position
  • Maintain high standards of professional conduct and practice
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills
  • Must be confident in a client facing position
