GLL is looking for a hands-on Partnership Manager to cover Manchester following our recent successful bid to operate the city's sport and active leisure venues for the next 9 years. The Partnership Manager will be the overall relationship manager between GLL and Manchester City Council and will be responsible for some of the most iconic sporting facilities within the UK, working in partnership with some highly-decorated National Governing Bodies.

As Partnership Manager, you'll be responsible for venues that currently have a turnover of c.£5 million, but your ambition will see you maximise business opportunity to drive the financial targets set out within our bid submission. The venues under your leadership include: HSBC UK National Cycling Centre, National Squash Centre & Regional Arena, East Manchester Leisure Centre, Ten Acre Lane Sports Complex (Home of GB Taekwondo), Platts Field BMX Track and the Regional Tennis & Football Centre. These facilities are home to some of GB's most successful athletes across a variety of sports, therefore a proven ability to develop strong relationships with National Governing Bodies is required. You'll be accountable for the business performance of these facilities and have overall responsibility for hosting world class events such as World Cup Cycling, International Athletics, World Series Taekwondo and International Water Polo events. We don't just care about elite athletes though as a significant part of your role will be working with Manchester City Council and your local teams to develop junior sport pathways and drive community participation in these iconic facilities.

A natural leader, you'll be a figurehead for the community in Manchester as well as for the team on the Etihad Campus, leading and inspiring them to drive participation and income. You'll know the importance of having a great team behind you and will therefore be able to demonstrate a strong staff engagement record. Business-minded, you'll seamlessly blend our commercial and community agendas whilst overseeing a range of products, projects and initiatives. There's great variety in this role and you'll need to be strategic and able to plan ahead as well as confidently deal with the day-to-day challenges. You'll motivate a team of not only leisure staff, but also marketing, community sport and event management colleagues ensuring our venues are known by and accessible to all the community. You'll most likely be a driven and results-oriented leisure manager with a flexible approach to tasks and an up-to-date knowledge of sport, leisure and community innovations. Knowledge of running events would also be beneficial. An excellent communicator, you'll be comfortable and adept at everything from report-writing and giving presentations to stakeholders around the business.

In return, we offer a range of benefits that you'd expect from the UK's largest leisure provider:

Pension schemes
Ride to work scheme
Discounted membership at our leisure centres
The opportunity to join the GLL Society and have a say in how we're run plus associated social events
Career pathways
Ongoing training and development to help you to be the best
