Data Analyst - Power BI
Job Purpose
As Data Analyst you will assist in the delivery of insightful and value adding analysis. You will manage the reporting content and ensure that it, along with relevant analysis, is delivered to the business and their partners at the required time.
This role requires the individual to acquire a detailed knowledge of the various IT systems used within the business and the processes used within each department by engaging with stakeholders, assisting them in documenting their requirements and using BI tools to develop reports in a timely and accurate manner.
Principal Accountabilities
Key accountabilities of the role as its stands are:
* Proactively achieve a competent knowledge of the data held within the UK Broker systems (OGI & CDL), call media platform, and quotation data from the aggregator portals.
* With some direction from the Senior Business Partner, able to interpret assigned Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) submitted to the BI team and produce agreed outputs.
* Help, where directed, to maintain documentation used in the business / BI department, such as a BI Business Requirement Document (BRD).
* Able to use of the likes of QlikView, Power BI or other visualization software, SQL to produce MI / BI outputs.
* Maintaining BI reports using the BI tools employed by Complete Cover Group (e.g. QlikView), including testing your own and other team members reports.
* Produce reports which engage internal partners, providing the information in a user-friendly and visually engaging format, striving to continually improve the automated generation of reports.
* Assist in the delivery of insightful and value adding analysis where required.
* Ensuring existing BI report production on a daily / weekly / monthly / quarterly basis continues to be available to the business as required and report accuracy is maintained.
* Able to communicate issues with any internal reporting they are responsible for and, where applicable, assisting with the resolution of reporting application issues and problems within agreed SLAs.
* Ability to produce documentation of reports developed / maintained for the technical library to an agreed common standard for BI systems, services and reports.
* Pro-actively keep up to date with system (OGI/CDL) and business operational processes to ensure the accuracy of existing and future BI reports.
* In addition to the specifics above, you may be required to undertake such other duties as may reasonably be required of you in the post and department above.
Education, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Business Awareness: A basic awareness of insurance, strong knowledge of our or similar broking systems and controls is preferable.
Communication: A good communicator, both verbally and in writing. Keeps others fully informed, ensuring line management has full understanding of their work progress and planned workload.
Customer Focus: Acts proactively to improve customer service, improves lines of communication in the Finance team.
Team Development: Team player who puts the needs of the Finance team ahead of their own. Where applicable shares knowledge, supports others in the team to learn and develop, and takes a proactive approach to their own development in current job.

Innovation: Where appropriate suggest and implement improvements that can be made.

Teamwork: Shows a willingness to engage positively with and as part of the wider Finance team and improves team effectiveness by providing a sense of purpose and values, and by involving team members.
Technical Competencies:
* Experience of developing and maintaining reports and an advanced skill set in Microsoft products such as Excel Access.
* Strong use of data modelling, profiling and cleansing techniques and a demonstrable ability to analyse large and complex data sets.
* Creative skills that enable you to take direction and build user-friendly reports
