Salary Scale £22,152 - £24,258 per annum

There is an opportunity to join the Community Pharmacy Services Team at Assynt House as Formulary Assistant providing comprehensive administrative, clerical and secretarial support to the TAM (Treatments and Medicines) Subgroup and to assist in the production and upkeep of the Highland Formulary (HF) and TAM App.

The Highland Formulary contains recommended medicines choices, dosing advice and local prescribing information and guidelines. Its aim is to provide up-to-date, relevant guidance for prescribers, helping them to make logical choices relating to medicines by providing a rational selection of drugs based on evidence of safety, efficacy, cost-effectiveness and consideration of patient acceptability.

TAM, a website and downloadable app, contains NHS Highland therapeutic guidelines, formularies, including the Highland Formulary, and patient information for all Highland Health and Social Care staff and patients.

This post would develop, co-ordinate and maintain administrative systems which ensure efficient functioning of Formulary and TAM processes.

This role would require excellent verbal and written communication skills including negotiation skills, the ability to use a range of IT systems and programmes including databases, a high level of organisational skills and time-management skills.

Experience in minute taking and of servicing committees is desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the use of databases is expected.
