One of Morgan Law’s NHS clients requires a Category Lead to manage a small team responsible for procurement activity within their service areas including ICT and Professional services.

Duties will include

  • Develop and implement category specific procurement strategies that deliver savings and value for money across your category areas
  • Lead and develop market engagement and drive stakeholders understanding of commercial options • Provide professional procurement advice to directors and senior management
  • Working closely with ICT and Professional specialists to develop category knowledge
  • Ensure procurement compliance across all procurement activity across the category
  • Responsible for high level negotiations and reviews with external suppliers of services • Interpret and analyse complex data from suppliers and stakeholders

Experience required:

  • CIPS qualification or qualified by experience
  • Strong working knowledge managing procurement activity in one of the following areas ICT or Professional Services • Detailed understanding of OJEU
  • Category experience within the NHS or similarly complex organisation
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to manage staff
