We are looking for an experienced Operations Electronics Technician to provide electronics technical support for the manufacture of Fire and Gas Detection Products manufactured at my clients Plymouth facility.

Tasks and Responsibilities

* Create PCB prototype design, building, testing and verification

* Support with Approvals requirements, including EMC testing, technical evaluations and drawing changes.

* Produce comprehensive technical documentation and working methods to support design, ensuring quality and performance requirements are maintained.

* Provide technical support to customer facing teams.

* Work closely with remote Design Engineers in support of product lifecycle management, including upgrades, enhancements and obsolescence.

* Work closely with Operations team to ensure products are fit-for-manufacture.

* Implement & take ownership of appropriate process controls (Including Control Plans, SOS’s, Risk Assessments, etc.).

* Revision Control of live and unreleased documentation or software.

* Generate and introduce process improvements to support the 4.5% productivity goal each year.

* Work with Production Team members to ensure effective TPM implementation.

* Support and/or Lead Root cause analysis workshops as necessary to support Production stoppages and reoccuring issues.

* Create and maintain automated jigs and fixtures providing quick and effective solutions for malfunctions

* Attend meetings where required to provide production engineering input in support of business goals

* Take responsibility for and develop knowledge within technology area(s).

* Occasional travel off-site to conduct inspection of new equipment, attend training courses and support other business areas.

* Any other reasonable duties required by Operations Management.

The successful applicant will have the following attributes;

* Engineering degree level in electronics & software engineering

* 3 years proven experience of delivering high quality, result based work as an electronics engineer/technician

* Able to demonstrate practical, technical and analytical electronics engineering skills.

* Experience in automated test systems using National Instruments Labview code would be advantageous

* Analogue and digital circuit design, choosing components justifying the design bu analysis and testing of reliability

* Producing designs to meet industry specific global approvals

* A sound understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering principles, with the ability to protype electronics circuitry
