Performances Birmingham Ltd is the charitable trust that manages Town Hall Symphony Hall (THSH) as part of two iconic venues at the heart of Birmingham. Town Hall Symphony Hall's mission is to inspire a love of live music, through performance, participation and learning. Each year, we welcome over half a million people to around 800 concerts and events.
From Generation Ladywood, a suite of activities that are offered to young people and their families in an area where 53% of children live in poverty to Community Spirit, a concert which brings together some of the best choirs and homegrown talent in the West Midlands for an evening of incredible choral music - Town Hall Symphony Hall plays a central role in this culturally vibrant city.
The charity is now seeking a Finance Assistant to provide a comprehensive bank and cashiering function with responsibility for reconciling all bank accounts and accurately processing all transactions within a restricted timescale.
Working as part of a strong finance team, the position will liaise with other departments to ensure that all banking information is received promptly and any issues are dealt with efficiently. The role will manage the preparation of bank reconciliation, post payments and receipts to the finance system and complete a daily import of bank statements, as well as processing any other payments including raising cheques, bank transfers and foreign payments. They will also be running monthly reconciliations of various control accounts including investigation and resolution of any balances and complete the general administration and reconciliation of petty cash, annual setup and monthly processing of direct debit collections, requesting cash amounts to be delivered as required.
To be successful in this role the desired candidate must have some previous experience within a similar environment and be used to working with volume transactions. It is essential the post holder possesses a high level of numeracy, organisation and time management skills, good attention to detail, and competency in MS Office - particularly MS Excel.
