Celsian Education are recruiting on behalf of a select number of client primary schools in the Derbyshire area for HLTAs to work with children who require support with a range of needs from social, emotional, mental health needs, to academic support. Our schools provide OUTSTANDING or GOOD education for children within the local area, and care deeply about supporting them to progress as confident and effective learners and happy, considerate citizens of the future. HLTAs are vital to the overall learning and development of pupils at these schools. Your support could help a child to foster a love of learning and optimise their ability to fully take part in mainstream learning both inside and outside of the classroom environment.

Primary schools requiring HLTAs May 19 include a busy but friendly primary school in Belper, who are seeking a HLTA to work within their happy and exciting environment - from May 2019 on a full time, long term basis from 8:30 to 15:30 from Monday to Friday with a small number of pupils at KS2 (years 3/4/5/6).
This wonderful village school, set in picturesque grounds, enjoys a fantastic position: with stunning countryside views and expansive grounds. A truly wonderful place to work - this small school boasts polite and engaged children who are keen to learn. As such, the head teacher is keen to appoint a special member of staff who can offer small group and 121 support to a select number of pupils and help to enable all pupils to be the happiest and best that they can be.
This welcoming and supportive school strongly believe that school is a partnership between children, parents, teachers and support staff, and Governors, and that by working together they can enable and motivate children to succeed in all areas of development.
Person Specification - Long term HLTA: May 19 - July 19 (HLTA) - Derbyshire
The successful long term HLTA applicant will have strong literacy and numeracy skills; be enthusiastic, proactive and engaging; be able to provide effective support to all children and small groups or on a 121 basis under direction of the teacher, including those with special educational needs; be comfortable supporting children with lower levels of self-esteem or lower than expected communication and personal care skills, and who can present challenging behaviour. This role requires a calm, collected practitioner who can be firm, fair and above all - consistent!
Successful Applicants will be subject to references and an up to date DBS with update service or be willing to apply for a new DBS.

You will be supporting pupils in Key Stage 1 and/or KS2 fostering a love of learning, in a HLTA role. These roles may initially begin as daily or short term, but with opportunities to lead onto a longer term position, with competitive rates of pay, reflecting previous experience of working with children, and the required workload. More experienced applicants may have the opportunity to lead lessons or parts of lessons.
