Our client based in Exeter is looking for an IT Assistant to join their team.

The purpose of this role will be to act as an Assistant to the IT Network Manager in offering all levels of IT help, support and maintenance to the company's branch locations. You will be responsible for providing 1st line technical support and an efficient & effective administrative and front-line customer service for the IT Department.

Key objectives:
1.Performing and updating hardware and software maintenance duties;
2.Troubleshooting and correcting hardware/software computer and network problems;
3.Updating and maintaining the maintenance and operation of approximately 100 workstations and laptops;
4.Ensuring all regular tasks are completed successfully;

Responsibilities:
1.Performing and updating hardware and software maintenance duties.
1.1Make improvements and required changes to a range of systems and processes to support the business;
1.2Evaluate existing customer system hardware, and perform system upgrades, based on company requirements;
1.3Install, integrate, customise, configure and test new systems and hardware;
1.4Perform routine day to day hardware and software maintenance as assigned and assist in proper upkeep and utilisation of systems;
1.5Supporting the delivery of new technological systems and processes, including facilitating training when appropriate.

2.Troubleshooting and correcting hardware/software computer and network problems.
2.1Investigate, analyse, and resolve problems on computer systems;
2.2Answer support queries via phone and email and maintain a high degree of service for all support queries;
2.3Take ownership of user problems and be proactive when dealing with user issues
2.4Support users in the use of computer equipment by providing necessary training and advice;
2.5Resolve configuration conflicts and errors;
2.6Maintain a log of any software or hardware problems detected and document resolution;

3.Updating and maintaining the maintenance and operation of approximately 100 workstations and laptops.
3.1Set up users in order to provide them with network and email facilities and to ensure time accuracy;
3.2Analyse and resolve problems on computer applications and systems for staff across all other offices;
3.3Provide a wide range of technical assistance to all members of staff;
3.4Ensure that the entire company network including all workstations have the latest anti-virus software installed and updated with the latest virus alerts;

4.Ensuring all regular tasks are completed successfully.
4.1Carry out daily backups and file restoration as required which will enable users to recover data files as required.

Essential requirements:
*Experience of Microsoft Servers 2012 and 2016, PC's and Office 365
*Experienced in resolving hardware issues
*Experience in troubleshooting simple network issues
*Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
*Ability to work well on own initiative and as well as part of a team
*GCSE of equivalent Mathematics and English

Desirable:
*Experience of working a technical support role
*Ability to diagnose and rectify a wide range of computer hardware and software problems
*Experience of Microsoft Azure
