Our client, a UK–based fund management business with offices in Edinburgh and London, has embarked on a journey to transform its Risk and Compliance capabilities, with a focus on developing a ‘best in class’ strategy, approach and mind-set. Having recently brought on board a new Chief Risk Officer and outlined a new integrated operating model, they are looking to further develop the team in particular areas. A critical area for the function is monitoring, and they are looking to bring in an experienced and talented Risk & Compliance Monitoring Manager to play a key role. Reporting directly to the Head of Risk & Compliance Monitoring Manager, you will have the day to day responsibility for the planning, execution, reporting and analysis of all monitoring activities – across all risk and compliance areas, not just regulatory. Based in Edinburgh, this is an excellent opportunity to deepen and broaden your skills and experience, whilst honing your business leadership capabilities. To be successful you would need to be able to demonstrate the following skills, experience and behaviours, as a minimum … A proven track record in planning and delivering monitoring and assurance activities in an Asset Management environment. Ability to positively influence the business to arrive at robust but pragmatic risk management outcomes. Strong technical experience across Risk and/or Compliance fields of expertise. Knowledge of the sector - markets, competitors, products, services, trends, impacting forces and factors. Knowledge of specific regulations, legislation, governance and compliance requirements that impact a role, business area or company as a whole. Experience of building strong relationships across an asset management business. Effective communicator. Works in an inclusive, respectful and collegiate way with others to build partnerships, networks and relationships. Encourage team work and collaboration and breaking down boundaries. Able to make a decision at pace and in ambiguous or conflicting situations. Takes proactive and constructive action with little or no direction from others. Demonstrates a strong focus on self-improvement and continuous learning. If this sounds interesting and, only if you have the relevant experience, please get in touch for further information.
