Salary: To £49K + Benefits + 3% Flex

About this job

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Service Manager to work on a large and unusual site and hold the reins with responsibility of the management of the Unified Communications Services (VOIP E-mail, CISCO JABBER Chat/Collaboration, social media, Wiki and Telepresence), You are to be responsible for ensuring that all contractual elements of the services are delivered according to SLA's, and that opportunities to improve the services and technologies are considered and exploited, as well as delivering the services to this high profile client. This is a very large, secure IT account that will offer you challenges, career growth and the chance to work with a fantastic team. DV Cleared is preferable although we will consider candidates eligible for DV Clearance.


  • Ensure all contractual elements of the services are delivered to high standard and meeting SLA's targets

  • Manage the delivery of the services from Sopra Steria operational teams into the client

  • Work closely with the End User, Infrastructure, Application and Support Managers

  • Review service performance on a regular basis, and to actively consider opportunities for Service Improvement in line with the Continual Service Improvement Plan in place within the organisation.

  • Build strong relationships with the client

  • Accepting and transitioning project delivered changes and upgrades in to service management

  • Objectives are:

    • Successful daily operations

    • Cost effective service delivery

    • Keep the client happy

    • Continual service improvement

    • Grow the business

Essential experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar Service Management role within an IT managed service organisation

  • A good high level understanding of Unified Communications technology and functionality

  • Familiarity with WAN/LAN network technologies

  • Previous experience of building and maintaining client relationships

  • Service management experience, with a proven ability to work effectively within a matrix managed environment to resolve issues and problems

  • Self-starter, with a proactive approach to problems and issues

  • Strong interpersonal skills required, with the ability to build long term relationships based on trust and integrity

  • Strong communication skills are essential, both written and verbal

  • ITIL V3 Service Manager qualification

  • Experience and knowledge of the Public Sector

  • High level understanding of MOD Security Requirements
