Salary up to £35K plus a £4700 benefits scheme which if you opt out of, you can recieve as an additonal salary.


Part of the IT Change team, the IT Business Analyst will support the IT Lead Business Analyst to define and deliver IT and business process changes within their area of the organisation. Where the BA skills and experience needed for Front and Back Office IT BA roles are similar, the technical skills may be different. The roles are focussed as follows:

  • BA Back Office - define and deliver change with FCA-Fleet and FCA-Dealer services. Processes and services/applications include any internally-facing applications, and finance applications. Applications include White Clarke Calms/CMS/Catalyst, Miles, DataFlow, Aptean Respond, On Guard Credit Manager. Technical skills include SQL, handling large datasets for analysis, MS Office, XML and Windward Autotag.

    Key measures for the roles include high customer satisfaction, quality of documentation, faster delivery of changes and successful delivery of IT systems/services/applications change overall.


  • Evaluate options and present proposed solutions clearly with supporting analysis
  • for validation and review, to include cost/benefit analysis and business process,

    application and data impact

  • Produce clear and detailed documentation of operational business requirements,

    including functional and non-functional requirements and definition of test plans

  • Work with the IT Operations team and business stakeholders to establish service

    design and service levels for new or changed IT systems/services/applications

  • Ensure quality process, applications and systems documentation is provided and/or

    updated as a result of any change

  • Ensure all changes follow best practice security guidelines, such that capabilities

    and service provided are 'secure by design'

  • Undertake acceptance testing and ensure all testing is completed in line with test


  • Provide training as appropriate in new or updated processes or application capability, ensuring that users and first line support are fully aware of changes
  • Create and maintain a library of business process documentation, and actively promote simplification and automation of business processes

  • Under the direction of the Lead Business Analyst, undertake application configuration across test, UAT and pre-prod environments, working with IT Operations team staff to promote changes to production in line with best practice operational controls

  • Provide technical application second line support for incidents raised via the IT Service Desk that cannot be resolved by first line support

  • Work with the IT team to define, implement and ensure continuous improvement of the following ITIL processes:

    • Business Relationship Management

    • Demand Management

    • Design coordination

    • Transition Planning and Support

    • Change Evaluation

    • Change Management

    • Release and Deployment Management

    • Service Validation and Testing

    • Plus actively support the IT team in Information Security Management


  • Good understanding of IT applications and services, with technical IT background, ideally in the financial services/automotive sector

  • Basic understanding of ITIL Service Strategy and Service Transition processes, ideally at least ITIL Foundation certified

  • Practical experience of business analysis and process mapping techniques. Qualified or prepared to work towards ISEB Diploma in Business Analysis; Six Sigma belt/Lean certification would be an added bonus

  • Practical understanding of IT project, programme and portfolio management; experience of Agile methods would be advantageous

  • Expertise within the software development life cycle, including analysis, design, development, testing and implementation of software applications

  • Good organisational skills and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, especially relating to presentation of

    complex information clearly and simply

  • Self-motivated with good problem solving ability

  • Understanding of creating and executing test plans

  • Ideally degree educated

  • Customer focussed, flexible, pragmatic and decisive
