UK & World travel, factory base in Yorkshire
OTE £60K+
My client design and manufacture packaging automation solutions across a broad range of global markets; palletizers, depalletizers, automated can end and product handling equipment, unwrappers, destrappers, coolers, pasteurizers and process equipment.
They are looking to expand their field service team and require a multi-disciplined service technician with a proven background in automation and robotics.
The successful applicant will work as part of an established team to complete all aspects of electrical works relating to the assembly and build of the equipment. Working from electrical drawings they will be expected to be able to wire, test and fault find on a full range of industrial packaging equipment.
DUTIES
The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for new equipment installations, rebuilding of used equipment, performing field engineering audits, and general supporting of install base machinery. This position will be primarily working in customers' manufacturing facilities worldwide and requires extensive travel - the anticipated field time over a twelve-month period is 50%.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* PLC, HMI, and servo programming
* Site start-up support of integrated packaging equipment for the consumer products industry
* Complete Input/Output checks and troubleshoot wiring.
* Provide working supervision of mechanical/electrical installations
* Provide training for customer operations and maintenance personnel, emphasizing safe operation.
* Provide follow-up documentation in a timely manner to include installation and service reports, time sheets, and expense reports and other duties as assigned by the Field Service Manager
* As part of the Field Service Team you will be actively engaged in the L3 journey by seeking, encouraging and acting on continuous improvement and developmental opportunities
Requirements:
* City & Guilds / HND or equivalent in an electrical engineering discipline
* Alternative engineering qualification combined with extensive experience will be considered in lieu of HNC/HND
* Minimum 2 years of supporting PLC controlled automation applications in a service role
* Robotic/Automation experience is a plus but not required
* Ability to travel regularly & close to airports
* Holding a valid Passport & driving licence
