We are Ashwoods Electric Motors – an innovative and rapidly-growing cleantech engineering firm based in the South West of England – and we make electric motors that are smaller, lighter, more efficient and cheaper than comparable incumbent designs. Our products are attracting global interest and we are now rapidly expanding to meet the requirements of our ever-growing customer base.

We have the opportunity for a Quality Engineer to join us to strengthen the existing Quality team and provide focus on supporting and developing Quality within the Manufacturing department.

Job Responsibilities

* Support the establishment of QMS documents and tools

* Support the dissemination of the QMS, ensuring the contents are maintained and readily accessible

* Support training, both developing training support and providing training

* Support the maintenance (updating) of QMS documents

* Provide production sign off approval on behalf of quality department as required.

* Assist in resolving production quality issues.

* Support the investigation of customer quality complaints and complete 8D reports as appropriate.

* Carry out Internal Audits to ISO9001:2015

* Drive Continual Improvement activities, to reduce costs and improve overall productivity

* Support the creation of manufacturing quality plans and inspection records

* Assisting the Quality Inspector with the inspection of incoming and outgoing parts and product.

* Control of quarantine materials.

* Comply to the Ashwoods Management Systems of Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience

* Experienced and trained ISO9002:2015 Internal Auditor

* Experience of a medium / high-volume manufacturing environment

* Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills

* Direct experience of supporting customers

* Can demonstrate good attention to detail and ability to produce detailed instructions ensuring compliance with standards and customer requirements.

Desired qualification, skills and experience

* A degree or equivalent qualification in an engineering or manufacturing discipline

* Experience working within an automotive environment.

Personal characteristics

* Ability to work under your own initiative

* Sense of humour

* Eye for detail.

* Excellent organisational skills
