Role Objective:

As a more experienced member of the PR account team, a senior account executive (SAE) will demonstrate maturity and experience across a range of tasks and clients. Working collaboratively within a team, the role requires the ability to think professionally and proactively.

An SAE is often the main point of contact for clients and as such must show awareness of current activity across the account, future planning, account fee structures, time allocation and be able to identify opportunities for additional projects.

Account Responsibilities:

In addition to the main responsibilities of an account executive, an SAE is also responsible for:

· Facilitating face-to-face meetings with press and clients

· Pro-actively presenting opportunities to clients for results based activities

· Liaising on a daily basis with team, clients and the media, via telephone and email

· Relationship building and networking with colleagues, clients and the media

· Preparing regular client reports and attending client meetings

· Researching, writing and distributing press releases and other written collateral to targeted media

· Collating, analysing and evaluating media coverage

· Assisting AM in future activity planning and results evaluation

Company Responsibilities:

· Ownership and daily management of part or all of an account

· Mentor and source of support to more junior team members

· Daily newspapers overview and responsibility for incoming calls

· Regular contributor to the face of Berkeley PR through social networking (including company blog and Twitter) both on- and offline

· Understand, support and demonstrate use of the agency values (PIES)

· Have achieved Berkeley’s Storytelling accreditation. Consistently ensure that Berkeley’s storytelling philosophy is included in the written work created for clients and media. Begin to communicate the importance of Storytelling in your client relationships

Key Skills:

· Strong relationships with all target media, including national and online press

· Independence in all time management and organisational activities

· Awareness and acceptance of the ‘bigger picture’ both client based and corporately

· Self - motivation and a persuasive manner

· Proven spoken and written communication skills across a variety of areas

· Enhanced 'people skills', able to adapt to a range of audiences both internally and externally

· Thorough understanding of client’s business and their market

· Consistent professional manner

· Proven presentation and negotiation skills

Educational Qualifications:

· Degree-level or equivalent
