Engineering Manager – Teesside – £55,000 - £65,000

The Company:

Our client is a global leading chemical company with a focus on the development and manufacturer of specialist compounds for a broad range of products and everyday items.

This is an excellent opportunity to move into an established successful business to manage and lead a strong technical team within a highly progressive environment.

The Position:

Due to continued success in the business our client wishes to recruit a new Engineering Manager. This position will play a key role in directing, leading and developing the area engineering team to deliver a professional engineering service. You will also drive efficiency and effectiveness of the engineering team on site.

The position will be a day shift role, salary range offered is £55,000 - £65,000 + a range of excellent benefits.

Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the engineering team to ensure safe and cost-effective maintenance specification, planning & execution in support of the production area demands.
Control the engineering spend within budget and support on site projects.
Fulfil the role of Responsible Mechanical Engineer on site for the area including the review of pressure system examinations, repairs, schemes of examination and plant modifications.
Actively manage the engineering team to ensure the overall motivation and competency is maintained at a high level, ensure essential training is provided and encourage team and personal development.

Technical engineering input when required to resolve equipment related business risks.

Lead and encourage risk assessment reviews in line with the corporate risk management standards.

Requirements:

Qualified in a Mechanical engineering discipline, ideally chartered engineer status with 10-15 years’ experience working within a Tier 1 Comah site within Chemical Processing.
Excellent and demonstrable leadership skills and experience of working with LEAN, codal management and reliability practices.

Thorough knowledge of maintenance workflow, rotating equipment and pressure systems.
