This is a hands-on role, working between the operations and accounts department in a small but very busy and enjoyable environment. This will be a 3-6 month temporary role initially, with a strong chance that it will become permanent for the right person.

Responsibilities include:

  • Posting purchase invoices, matching purchase orders & reconciling purchase statements
  • Compiling and processing month end and mid-month payment run
  • Credit control and weekly debtor review
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Preparation of accruals, prepayments and routine journals
  • Resolution of finance related queries including provision of financial support to the team
  • Assisting the Management Accountant in month end reporting and accounts preparation
  • VAT return preparation
  • Answering the phone, dealing with customer and supplier queries
  • Any other general finance admin and office support

Key personal attributes:

  • Excellent administration and accounting skills
  • Excellent numeracy, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organised, with good attention to detail
  • Able to multi-task and prioritise
  • Pro-active and able to take initiative

It is essential that the successful candidate has a solid finance background with good IT skills, particularly on MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Sage 50.
