Assistant Service Delivery Manager
Your new role
As an Assistant Service Delivery Manager, you will administer the IT investment approval process as part of the Customer Journey, ensuring that there is a clear audit trail on all decisions. You will work with your team to ensure meetings are scheduled, minutes and action logs are produced, and investment reports are completed within agreed timescales. Your role will include close liaison with senior managers, team leaders and other stakeholders across the business, providing guidance on the IT investment approval process to project teams, and on best practice in business case production and presentation. This will include quality reviews of draft and final business case submissions, ensuring that standards are met prior to entry into the investment approval process.
What you'll be leading on
Administration of the IT investment approval process, including the scheduling of assurance and investment decision committee meetings, and the production of the agenda, meeting pack, minutes and action logs for those meetings;
Providing guidance to customers on the IT investment process, including management of information on the Portal, such as business case templates, process maps and other supporting advice notes; and the management of the team in-box to agreed SLAs;
Review of business cases, to confirm they meet agreed quality standards before they enter the IT investment approval process;
Maintenance of a tracker of business case submissions progressing through the Governance step of the IT Customer Journey;
Reporting to divisional, directorate and corporate management on the IT investment approval process to agreed timescales.
To be successful
Experience within a portfolio or programme environment, ideally with involvement in business case production or appraisal;
Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to plan own and team's workload, and process high volumes of documentation and correspondence;
Evidence of partnership working with a collaborative approach, working with a wide-range of stakeholders to offer guidance and resolve issues;
Excellent communication skills to convey complex information to different stakeholder groups;
Good analytical and presentation skills, with experience of using that information in reporting, and to influence decision making.
