Princes are seeking a Credit Controller to control a portion of a Sales Ledger of £1bn; maintaining customer accounts by resolving queries to enable prompt payment to agreed terms, thereby contributing to the working capital of the Company.

Principle Accountabilities

• Facilitate cash collection in accordance with Princes Trading Terms

• Posting and allocation of customer payments using SAP

• Process and resolve invoice claims through information gathering and liaison with Sales, Supply Chain, Depots, Customer Services, Technical and any other departments with the Company

• Build relationships with customers through frequent telephone contact, chasing payment for due/overdue invoices, ensuring that terms of payment are adhered to

• Issue weekly reports detailing customer payment shortfalls and aged debt analysis

• Post journals to clear deductions from the sales ledger to relevant deduction accounts

• Ensure that paper and EDI invoices are issued daily

• Maintain and update customer records on SAP, detailing all actions taken and logging times and dates of calls or correspondence

• Scanning all documents and correspondence for future retrieval and archiving

• Provide a high standard of service to both internal and external customers

• Comply with departmental and Internal Control Regulations/Notices as communicated

Essential Criteria

• Proven experience in a Credit Control role with responsibility for major customer accounts
• Knowledge of Food & Drinks sector or experience of any industry with sale of goods to major retailers beneficial but not essential
• Educated to GCSE standard (or equivalent) in Maths and English
• Experience of Microsoft office packages, and preferably SAP
