We are currently recruiting for a Refrigeration & AC Engineer for our site in Colindale, London.

Job Purpose:

• Main focus & responsibilities will be PPMs for refrigeration & A/C split units & equipment of all types. This will include -20 freezers/ cold & hot rooms.

• Daily BMS front end checks

• Trouble shooting, diagnosing and rectifying reactive requests for limited hard services

• Carry out emergency lighting monthly/annual PPMs and maintain records for audit purposes

Principal Accountabilities:

• Ensuring all Planned Preventative Maintenance is completed on time and work orders closed in CAFM

• Carry out reasonable routine and reactive maintenance work associated with refrigeration & A/C equipment. This will include arranging call out for sub contracted works

• Ensure full compliance of the companies Safety Rules and apply good engineering and safety practices.

• Provide supervision to other hard services sub-contractors e.g. BMS, Fire Safety & Security, Lift Maintenance etc.

• Complete on site risk assessments to support maintenance activities

• Complete paperwork for allocated work orders from receipt to completion

• Engineering supervision for annual CL3 laboratory maintenance

Person Specification

• City and Guilds: F Gas and ODS Regulations (2079)

• Construction Industry Training Boards (CITB)

• Safe handling of Refrigerants , EC 842/2006 Cat I and II (J11 and J12)

• Recovery of refrigerant , EC 0842/2006 Cat III (J13)

• Leak checking without system break in EC842/2006 Cat IV (J14)

• Safe handling of anhydrous ammonia (J02) optional

• Paperwork and brazing industrial (J04) or commercial (J05)- optional

• Time served apprenticeship in electrical and mechanical discipline

• Ideally Level 2/3 NVQ. Refrigeration and air conditioning (Service and maintenance)

• Experience: refrigeration system fault finding experience, PPM and reactive maintenance of A/C, cold rooms, chillers, HVAC, ULT work/ control systems is desirable

• An equivalent qualification that is recognised by another EU member state

• Understanding of BMS strategy

• Understanding of electrical supply & regulations

• Sound Health & Safety knowledge - IOSH preferred although training can be offered
