MPI have a requirement for a Contracts Manager to be based in Deeside. Flintshire CH5 2LS
Rate of pay is negotiable to be discussed on application
This contract is initially for 12 months with the possibility of extension for a further 12 months.
Standard Annual Leave Arrangements 20 standard + 8 bank holidays.
Flexible working may be available subject to agreement between the Contractor and our Client.
This is a full time position Mon-Fri Inclusive. 37 hours per week excluding meal break (42 inclusive of break)
The interim Contracts Manager role is an instrumental enabling role to a small team of circa 12 subject matter experts charged within the Company for delivering this programme. The role will entail the leadership of bids, procurement, contract formulation and governance management. Working with our Clients Commercial Manager you will drive end to end' commercial proposals (from customer through the supply chain), develop and implement a procurement strategy spanning up-front investment in capability acquisition to through life support services with the vendor base.
The interim Contracts Manager will support and lead when required the negotiation of all commercial aspects of a broad range of contracts to ensure our Clients sub-contract obligations are agreed with the appropriate balance of risk and reward.
Support experience (particularly in the UK environment) and experience of availability contracting is desirable, as the role will demand a degree of solution design and creative thinking around appropriate commercial mechanisms.
The role is based 5 days a week in Sealand, Flintshire, Wales, with occasional travel (circa twice a month) required to other parts of the UK and (circa once a quarter) to the USA.
Your skills and qualifications as Contracts Manager:
·Qualification to degree level or similar in a relevant discipline.
·Substantial commercial experience preferably covering capital equipment procurement, intellectual property management, lease and facility management including negotiating, preparing and administering contracts.
·Experience of negotiating terms and conditions is essential with an understanding in the defence sector would be preferable.
·Ability to work within a team to achieve the business and functional objectives.
·Skilled in developing innovative solutions to complex contractual issues.
·Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
·Project Management awareness and ability is desirable.
