Service Charge Accounts Manager (Accountant)
A fantastic opportunity for a finance professional with proven experience of service charge accounts to hit the ground running and make your mark as part of a rapidly expanding company.
Adlington Management Services (AMS) is an innovative specialist manager of high-quality retirement accommodation with care, typically comprising of multi-storey privately owned apartments. The company is part of the multi-award-winning developer Adlington, which is part of the respected Gladman Group with over 30 years of development experience.
Recently established to bring the management of Adlington properties in-house, AMS is now undergoing an intense period of growth, which has resulted in the creation of this Service Charge Accounts Manager vacancy.
What will this role of Service Charge Accounts Manager (Accountant) entail?
As the Service Charge Accounts Manager, you’ll play a key role in the company’s exciting growth plans, with plenty of opportunity to progress and head up the entire Service Charge Team as the company grows. Your duties will include, although not be limited to:
* Developing accounting policies, processes and procedures
* Ensuring accounting records and controls are in line with relevant legislation
* Preparing service charge budgets for new developments
* Raising service charge and ad hoc invoices to leaseholders, assisting with the collection of arrears and completing monthly bank reconciliations
* Completing annual service charge budget reviews, accounts preparation and external audits
* Managing the Sales and Purchase ledgers relating to expenditure of the buildings service charges and overheads
* Preparing BACS / CHAPS payments
What will I receive in return?
As the Service Charge Accounts Manager, you’ll receive a starting salary of up to £40,000, level dependent on experience and qualifications, plus a range of benefits including:

What will I need in order to be considered for this role?
* Proven experience of working with service charges gained within the property sector
* Solid accounts and finance experience
Although not essential, experience and knowledge of Qube software is highly advantageous for this role.
Ideally, you will be a qualified Accountant (AAT, CIMA or ACA) - although this is not an essential requirement.
You’ll be employed on a permanent, full time contract, with the option of compressed hours over a 9-day fortnight, with flexible start and finish times around the core hours.
You’ll be working from prestigious offices in Congleton, Cheshire – which are conveniently located within easy reach of the M6 and M56.
