Control Systems Engineer skills and qualities

* Strong logical, fault finding and problem solving skills, a dynamic thinker who can juggle projects and changing demands with ease and confidence through effective time management

* Knowledge of control software, ideally Carel using c.suite and 1tool, with maybe Crouzet and EasyBuilder for the HMI, though more importantly the ability to learn and develop these control systems packages where specific product training will be provided

* Electrical control panel design knowledge to refine and develop the existing designs and manufacturing processes

* Review, plan and implement the future development and direction of the control systems team

* Knowledge of networking integration using Modbus and Ethernet installations would be useful.

Responsibilities of the Control Systems Engineer:

* Lead the controls aspect of product development from concept through specification, test to implementation and installation of applications across industrial, commercial, data centre and pharmaceutical applications, where critical situations are often included

* Develop and standardise the software systems and processes going forwards using Carel software

* Take the legacy systems used, learn them, then be able to support existing customers with those installations if troubleshooting issues

* Work closely with the Product Development Manager and technical sales engineers to lead, guide, manage and develop the controls team ensuring specifications are met accurately and deadlines achieved
