This is a fantastic opportunity to work within school’s environment where you will be the face of the school, welcoming a rage of people on site including staff, students and parents and visitors.
You will take overall responsibility of the Reception Area including the day-to-day running of the School Reception desk and wider Reception Area, thus requiring a thorough knowledge of the switchboard, dealing with students, dealing with staff, welcoming visitors, mail, photocopying, etc. You will also provide organisational and administrative support to assist with the efficient running of the School’s support services.
You will be responsible for the School Reception Area ensuring the first impression of all visitors is of the highest quality.
Duties will include:
·Maintain a safe and clean reception area by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
·Deal with the main switchboard taking incoming telephone calls and making outgoing calls as necessary.
·Receive visitors and ensure they sign the Visitors Book, receive a Visitors badge and they are directed to the safeguarding arrangements.
·Deal with enquiries from students
·Deal with mail as appropriate, including franking of mail, providing an effective delivery and distribution service throughout the school, visit Post Office daily, to post school mail and parcels, deal with Recorded Delivery, Registered Packets etc. as necessary.
·Sign students in the late book and signing in and out book.
·Answer queries and deal with forms for transport, uniform, absence, etc.
·Coordinate programmes of visits or other programmes as required for the senior team.
Alongside this you will provide typing support for the Senior Leadership Team including letters to parents, external agencies, memos to staff and more detailed reports.
Essential Skills & Qualification
·Experience of working with children of relevant age in a learning environment; strong administration and organisational skills
·Computer literate with ECDL or equivalent in experience
·Excellent and empathetic communication skills, good analytical, organisational and writing skills
·Knowledge of relevant computer system to retrieve information.

· To take part in the school’s staff development programme by participating in arrangements for further training and professional development.
·To continue personal development in the relevant areas including subject knowledge and teaching methods.
·To engage actively in the Performance Management Review process.
Hours of work will be from 8.15am till 4pm (35 hours per week) 35 hours per week, term time, plus 5 days whish is equivalent to 39 weeks
£15,644 per annum
All positions are subject to an enhanced DBS check as standard practice.
