An Associate Engineer specialising in Manufacturing is required by the Darlington Engine Plant of ; You will be r esponsible for determining the manufacturing processes required to achieve departmental / plant objectives. Responsible for improving equipment availability and capability by utilising continuous improvement tools / techniques whilst working with cross functional teams. Defining manufacturing standard working methods and documenting accordingly. Supporting / implementing of capital acquisition, capacity planning, change control, corrective action reports, actioning of safety and production related concerns and issues. Reports to the Senior Engineers within the department as ; This role carries a salary of between £35,866 and £37,754 depending on experience plus benefits. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: •Highlighting proactively processes for process fail-safes, with the issuing and testing of standard operations instructions into the CMES data base. •Provide manufacturing technical support for the Shop Operations teams on three shift. •From release of product engineering change instructions, interpret the implications on process and facility build including CAD model graphics. •Resolving PPR’s that have been recorded for production, unit 1 & job1 builds. •Support PFMEA’s & participate in process design for new product (where applicable), processes & facilities. •Ensure that existing & new processes meet HSE safety & ergonomic legislation. •Provide day-to-day process and facility support to maximise quality defects, contribute to the resolution of supplier quality issues to maximise process through-put •Ensure process changes are captured via the Manufacturing Change Notification/Request (MCN/R) process ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: •Engineering related apprenticeship and /or HNC in Manufacturing / Mechanical Engineering or similar. •Relevant Engineering experience gained in an Automotive or similar industry. •Computer literate. Excel, Word, Minitab & PowerPoint. •Project management skills. •Communication skills with cross functional departments. Diesel engine product knowledge ;Diesel engine manufacturing processes desirable. •Supervisory experience but not essential.
