HOURS: Various hours including Weekend/Evening work. 40 hours per week. LOCATION: Milton Keynes (MK4 4DE) DESCRIPTION: Our client established in 1989, is an Early Years Foundation. Following continued success the company now has eleven nurseries across three counties, several out-of-school clubs, extensive forest school provision, a catering service and a training centre. ABOUT THE ROLE The company is looking for an enthusiastic, driven and organised Training Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of the company’s training centre. The successful applicant will have an enthusiasm for, and knowledge of, the Early Years Education sector, and a passion for promoting the professional development of staff, both within the company and from the wider sector. The company is looking for somebody with the drive to expand and develop the training and consultancy function in Milton Keynes and further afield, whilst ensuring that the quality is maintained throughout. It is important that you enjoy engaging with people with a wide range of skills/experience and can support them using a personal yet professional approach. Duties and Responsibilities (Not limited to): •To manage the day-to-day operations of the company’s Training and Consultancy function. •To draft and implement a medium- and long-term business plan for the training and consultancy function, in line with business strategy. •To manage resources and make operational decisions in line with the centre’s budget. •To establish and sustain collaborative working relationships with internal and external trainers, liaising with them to organise and implement the annual training programme. •To manage and update the online systems, including booking system, website and training centre room calendar. •To effectively and efficiently manage daily administrative duties which includes, but is not limited to, managing the training mailbox, consultancy contracts, training bookings and certificates. •To manage the facilities, resources and training room usage of the Training Centre, liaising with other operational staff as required. Occasional weekend or evening work will be needed to host courses or room hire at the training centre. •To liaise with the training customers and consultancy clients to ensure that the company is offering high-quality services that are suited to their needs. •To regularly liaise with the marketing department to promote the company’s training and consultancy services. IDEAL CANDIDATE: •Experience of working in the early years or wider education sector. •Experience of working with third-party trainers to maintain consistency and quality of training. •Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work across teams depending on the business needs. •Strong administrative skills and proven experience of implementing robust processes and procedures. •Excellent computer skills with experience of working with a wide range of electronic platforms. •A willingness to learn, develop, and complete further qualifications, and a passion for supporting others to do the same. •A flexible approach to working, with the ability to undertake weekend or evening work as required. DESIRABLE: •One or more of the following qualifications (or similar): •Qualified Teacher Status •Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) •Award in Education & Training •Award in Assessment & Quality Assurance •Level 3 Certificate for Forest School Leaders •Experience of RQF qualifications, apprenticeships and other similar courses, and ability to enrol and support staff on similar qualifications as appropriate. •Experience of identifying and assessing current and future training needs at a team or organisational level. •Experience of planning and implementing large training events or similar. •Experience of working with an awarding organisation (AO) and implementing thorough assessment and quality assurance procedures. •A good understanding or experience of accredited forest school qualifications.
