SEN Teacher Complex Needs/ Epilepsy Specialists

TLTP are working with a special needs school based in Much Hadham which includes a Residential Special School and Children's Home providing care and education for children and students with moderate to severe learning disabilities and associated complex needs. They are a specialist in Epilepsy and provide learning opportunities throughout the waking day.
Purpose of the Job
To develop the academic capabilities, social and communication skills and understanding of pupils, focusing on successful and purposeful learning
To lead the class team by example and direction, ensuring the highest quality of education and care for every pupil
To work towards an outstanding service for children and young people.
The post holder will be expected to behave in accordance with the school's values, the Staff Code of Conduct, legal requirements and all policies, at all times.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
To plan and prepare lessons and schemes of work in accordance with school policy, ensuring a variety of learning opportunities for the development of key skills;
To prepare, implement and monitor Individual Learning Plans for pupils/students in accordance with school policy to include setting and meeting appropriately differentiated targets to maximise pupil development, progress and achievement
To work collaboratively with colleagues, parents/carers, clinical psychologist, therapists, social services and other outside agencies who may be involved with pupils for whom you have a responsibility;
To have regard for your own personal performance and professional development needs in striving to support the school to achieve and maintain the highest standards of teaching and learning.
A confident motivated SEN Teacher
The ideal SEN Teacher will have QTS
Be passionate about education
Have the ability to keep their students consistently motivated and engaged in lessons
It is essential that the SEN Teacher has a thorough understanding of the National Curriculum
An excellent understanding of effective behaviour management
Ability to put these strategies into practice
