What it's like to work here

Wentworth Castle Gardens is set to reopen in summer 2019 as part of a unique partnership between the National Trust, Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council and Northern College. Working together we plan to make this special place with its grade 1 listed park and garden and its fascinating stories, both historic and modern-day, somewhere that everyone can enjoy.

In addition to this, you’ll have back office duties to tend to which will include, but is not limited to; creating rotas using the labour tool, stock management and ordering for the combined food & beverage offer and retail shop.

We strive to grow our business and we celebrate innovative thinking, so you’ll have ample opportunities to seek ways in which we can further develop the offerings to our visitors. After all, it’s the money generated in our commercial outlets that allows us to continue the vital conservation work we undertake as an organisation.

You won’t be required to delve too deeply into budgeting, however, you’ll help to keep an eye on things like our staffing costs and minimising waste in order to keep these within the budget.
