L’Arche has an opportunity available for a Team Leader to join the Supported Living team based in Preston. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis and in return you will receive a competitive rate of £ per hour. About the role: We are seeking a Team Leader to effectively lead and manage the team of Care and Support Workers in accordance with the values and ethos of L’Arche to ensure that the People with Learning disabilities in the Service are supported to an excellent standard. This is a full time care and support role which includes time off rota for administration. The amount of administration time will vary depending on the needs of the service You will be required to perform “out of hours” duties on a rota basis; this includes the ability to work weekends, evenings, bank holidays as well as sleep-ins and waking night shifts. Key duties and responsibilities of our Team Leader: - Supervision of the team – this includes appraisals and probationary reviews, performance management, team meetings and training of team members - Ensure that new team members are fully inducted into all operational and practical aspects of working as part of that team including people with Learning disabilities routines, health and safety and any other policy and procedures - Set a high standard of care and support and ensure that your team provide the same - Support people with learning disabilities to access the community to participate in activities such as leisure, education and employment - Support to maintain relationships with friends and family - Be fully knowledgeable of all details relating to the care and support of the people with learning disabilities in their service including details of any changing support needs, incident reports, accident reports etc Skills and experience required to become our Team Leader: - 2 years or more of paid or voluntary experience of supporting people with special needs, including learning disabilities - Ability to communicate with people with learning disabilities and their families as well as other professionals and visitors - A good understanding of Person Centred Care and Support - Capacity to respect privacy, dignity and independence and rights of people with learning disabilities - Able to gain the confidence and trust of people with learning disabilities - Excellent verbal and written Communication skills - Good IT skills (GCSE Equivalent) - NVQ 3 /QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care would be desirable Grounded in the Christian tradition, L'Arche Communities welcome people of all faiths and none: our vision is a world where all belong.
