Your new role
As a Junior Service Transition Manager you will take a lead role in the planning and coordination for the transition of new projects in to live operational services. Supporting Project Managers and Service Delivery Managers to ensure projects and services across the IT directorate are delivered successfully, on time and with minimal disruption to our customers. You will be part of a wider team, working collaboratively to remove constraints and focus on service delivery. You will be responsible for smaller projects and be involved in building relationships with suppliers to ensure a transition to live services. What you'll be leading on

  • Oversee service transition activities within an existing programme plan aligned to the overall information and technology strategies

  • Coordinating with Project Managers and the CIO Office Programme Office to effectively schedule, plan and prioritise services transition projects

  • Directing delivery partners to ensure transition projects are delivered as agreed, to required level of performance and quality through well-structured Service Level Agreement with agreed reporting schedules and governance meetings

  • Control the lifecycle of all changes and ensure the transition of services to the BAU support model, ensuring minimal business impact

  • Managing business and project risk, including supporting the development of contingency plans for the projects you are transitioning

To be successful

  • Experience of delivering IT services in a complex environment

  • Basic knowledge of ITIL discipline including service delivery and incident and problem management is required

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders, both internally and externally

  • Willing and able to contribute to continual service improvement

  • Ability to prioritise tasks with strong time management skills
