Role : Shift Manager

Location : Rotherham

Salary : £40,000 - £50,000

Shift Patter : Five Week shift Pattern.

Job Purpose

To lead and be the technical reference point for the shift ensuring all targets are met on a day to day basis.

Due to the nature of this being a hot working environment we would welcome applications from the Foundry, Fauge or Glass manufacturing industry.

Responsibilities of a Shift Manager

* Organise Labour to reach optimum output and achieve required efficiency levels.

* Oversee manning to meet production requirements

* Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures

* Achievement of departmental targets

* Control of materials to & from the shop floor

* Participate in recovery process following emergency situations

* Write and implement SOP's

* Complete appropriate risk assessments

* Provide accurate shift handovers

* Review line performances on a hourly and day to day basis

* Autonomous & Planned maintenance as and when required

Knowledge and Skills of a Shift Manager

* Experience of production machinery

* Well experienced in problem solving

* Experience of Lean Manufacturing

* Experience of working within continuous improvement teams

* Excellent understanding of targets and OTIF

Qualifications required for the role of Shift Manager

* ILM Level 2

* IOSH or equivalent H&S training

* Audit process and management

* GCSE (equivalent ) in Maths, English and Science.
