Due to ongoing growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Process Improvement Manager to join a global manufacturer of Oil products for the Food Manufacturing industry, based at their refinery in Liverpool.

The role will be for someone with a Chemical, Oil or Food background who has a passion for Continuous Process Improvement with a proven history in delivering positive and sustainable improvements within a Manufacturing environment.

The Process Improvement Manager's responsibilities will include:

• Management of all operational aspects for site transformation program, including but not limited to, process transformation/development/re-design, change management and operational procedure adoption

• Create and foster a culture, across the business, focused on continuous improvement and operational readiness

• Examines existing processes and evaluates them within the context of organisational goals, technology, reliability & process

• Works in collaboration with other departments to develop, improve and implement process, policies and procedures to drive cross function improvements and business benefit

• Clearly articulate emerging issues with senior management and get buy in for solutions as required (e.g. resources/budget, change in priorities/scope, process change)

• Keep informed regarding pending industry changes, trends latest technology and best practices and assess the potential impact of these changes on organisational process

• Support the management / delivery of the transformation programme through establishing effective relationships with key stakeholders within the function and across the business

• Manage the Lean & Operator Asset Care program working towards achieving manufacturing goals and objectives of the organisation (2 reports)

• Develop methods that help in reducing costs but does not compromise quality.

• Determining the root cause of system inefficiencies.

• Involved in preparing the documentation for improved processes and standard operating procedures, ensuring that the product designs manufactured are up to standard levels.

• Easily adaptable to new changes.

• Collaboration with all departments.

• Support and engage in ‘hands on’ project activities to ensure effective implementation of continuous improvement practices.

• Implementing & maintaining 5S standards

• Drive the site EHS standards and development of the Graduate Operations Support Co-Ordinator & Day Techs (3 reports)

The Process Improvement Manager will have the following:

Qualifications:

* Minimum BEng in Chemical Engineering (other disciplines would be considered if supported by relevant experience)

* Experience with lean six sigma or other problem solving methodology

Skills:

* Ability to lead, coach and teach

* Well organised

* Be up to date with latest developments in the field

* Positive attitude

* Excellent data collection & analytical skills

* Self-driven

* Identify and resolve problems quickly

* Good negotiation skills

* Good communication skills

* Experience in the application of OEE (overall equipment effectiveness)

* Strong PC and presentation skills

* Experience in manufacturing – Oil/Petrochemical, packaging, food production, FMCG

Desirable experience:

• Experience of working in fast paced manufacturing environment, working with cross functional teams including use and implementation of Lean/Six sigma tools, 5Y, 5S, Value stream mapping, Kaizen. Experience of leading or supporting cultural change and communication improvements.

Salary £45-55k, dependent on experience

Plus enhanced holidays, pension, company discretionary bonus schemes and flexible working hours.
