What’s the opportunity?

The growing order book within MBDA has created a growing workload for our new production facility at Bolton. To achieve the ramp-up of production across these products requires strong support from the design teams to address issues as they occur. The Design Support to Production Team is located at the production facility and provides the first line of support when problems occur. Their input is critical to establishing the production rate as quickly as possible and maintaining this rate.

What will you be doing?

This role involves performing a range of tasks in support of the more senior Design Support Engineers across the product set that they support. These will include:

- simple design tasks and investigations,

- investigating problem reports raised by manufacturing teams and proposing and implementing solutions,
- writing technical reports,
- liaising with various teams in the manufacturing facility at Bolton and the design teams at Stevenage,
- looking after a small lab area ensuring tools are available, equipment’s are in calibration and ensuring general tidiness of the area,

- Working across the design/manufacturing boundary will provide both technical and personal challenges including working under pressure to ensure product is not held on the production line affecting delivery times.

What’s great about joining this team?

- The design support team is a multi-skilled team of interdependent, highly capable and committed individuals. They are the crucial link between design and manufacturing and must use all of their experience, technical and personal capabilities to interface to both areas of the business, where time and cost pressures often cause rifts in the interface that must be carefully handled for success.
- The team is friendly and supportive and is respected throughout the manufacturing and design organisations.

Who and what we are looking for from you?
