We are now recruiting for a new, meaningful Risk & Controls Manager within the Global Risk and Controls team. The role involves ensuring that we maintain an effective financial reporting control environment across the global finance function both by testing and advising on the operation of controls.

You will be an integral part of a team of control specialists. We actively thrive to build a robust control environment, through advising on risks and controls relating to both existing and developing processes, ensuring that financial reporting risks are identified, and controls are embedded in all relevant processes.

What are the duties & responsibilities?
* You will communicate, report and influence senior business partners on the identification of risks and the assessment of the effectiveness of the framework of controls and the embedding of controls into strategic decision-making
* You will perform control testing in line with FRCF (Financial Reporting Control Framework) methodology
* You will advise on the effectiveness and efficiency of existing and proposed processes
* You will assist with special projects through a financial controls perspective
* You will assist in ensuring that all control deficiencies are remediated appropriately and in a timely fashion
* You will occasionally be required to travel out of York

What skills & experiences do we require?
* Qualified Accountant or working towards this
* Prioritisation and analytical skills
* Audit experience would be fantastic to see
* Excellent communication both written and oral
* A finance service / insurance background is desired
* Dedicated customer and business partner management
* Experience of influencing senior management and negotiation

* A salary of £35,000 to £50,000 depending on skills, experience and qualifications
