Technical Architect - Oracle applications to Azure Cloud
Solution Architect or Technical Architect required for a growing company to the west side of Glasgow, who are leaders in their very particular field. This role is part of a massive programme of change for the company and you will be pivotal in architecting the brand-new Azure cloud platform from a legacy Oracle system. The whole company are totally committed to the programme of change and there is complete buy-in from all stakeholders involved. You will be required to have strong leadership and communication skills as you will be working alongside multiple parts of the business. You will be aiding to define new target architecture and will be involved with building the data platform and integration layer. The aim is to modernise the company and make the organisation 'fit for the future.' There is plenty of design work to be done and you will have a big say in this. The architecture that is in place is relatively new, so this journey for the company is still quite fresh. They are looking for Architects with strong Solution Architecture and Applications Architecture experience. As they are moving from an Oracle to Azure platform, it would be beneficial if you have exposure to either of these. There is additionally a need for someone with architecture leadership skills, although this might not necessarily be from a team management perspective. A lot of initial work will be based on building the platform and performing proof of concept. The challenges will include ensuring there is good architecture around design. The company have a number of different applications they use including SharePoint, Oracle Forms and Reports, Oracle E-Business Suite as well as the website based on .NET. Key Skills and Experience: ** Strong Solution Architecture experience ** Application Architect background - ideally from an Oracle platform or Microsoft Azure perspective ** Architecture leadership skills (not definitely team lead/management) ** Data Architect experience (Business Intelligence/Analytics, data transformation, data integration) ** Exposure to an IT Change environment ** Knowledge of Office 365, SharePoint, .Net, EBS etc ** Experience of financial services/insurance sectors ** Experience in facilitating and hosting workshops and focus groups with SMEs and senior stakeholders This is an opportunity to make a huge impact on this growing organisation and really affect the change involved.
