Senior Product Manager - Current Accounts

The Bank

Our client is a new specialist Bank established by entrepreneurs in 2018 to serve the needs of family businesses and entrepreneurs alike. Our client was established following the acquisition of a Bank who had been providing services to business customers in the UK since 1955.

The Role

Summary:

As Senior Product Manager - Current Accounts, you will be responsible for the management the Personal and Business (UK and International) Current Account product range over the full product lifecycle from ideation through development, launch, sale, and finally closure. You have a deep understanding of the current account market and segment needs and will represent the voice of the customer at all touch-points in the customer journey. You will be the Banks first line of defence ensuring all products and processes are compliant with all relevant legislation, regulation and industry best practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for product compliance with all relevant legislation, regulation and industry best practice
  • Ownership of the end-to-end product journey and operational processes and vendor management

  • Collaborates with the ops team to ensure delivery and optimisation of all operational processes, systems, infrastructure and resources

  • Instigates, analyses and interprets detailed customer, competitor, complaint and market analysis to drive decisions and recommendations

  • Owns, maintains, develops and enhances products KPIs, dashboards and reporting

  • Owns accurate forecast and delivery of credit and debit balance and fee income

  • Identifies and recommends initiatives to optimise current account portfolio profitability

  • Responsible for provision of timely and accurate forecasts to operational teams

  • Identifies, validates, owns business case and sets clear requirements for strategic and tactical product changes/launches

  • Delivers all product change on time and to budget

  • Works with marketing to define and execute the requirements for the annual product marketing plan

  • Responsible for annual and ad-hoc product reviews

  • Participates in/leads internal and external governance forums providing regular, accurate insight and recommendations

  • Accountable for the preparation of high quality product recommendations supported by detailed analytics and cost/benefit and risk analysis

  • Provides clear, timely and accurate requirements for the delivery of BAU change inc. price changes

  • Management of timely and accurate rate/fee change implementation

The Person

Essential Knowledge & Experience

  • Relevant experience in a regulated financial services environment
  • Experience of Current Account market - ideally Business Current Accounts

  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication

  • Highly numerate with strong excel skills

  • Demonstrable customer focus

  • Demonstrable digital capability

  • Commercially astute and articulate

  • Up-to-date understanding of regulatory environment

  • Highly collegiate and willing to get hands dirty

Basic Salary:up to £65,000 PA dependent upon experience.
