Summary

My client is looking for an accountant to be responsible for maintaining and developing a professional accounting and administrative support function, covering the main activities of the business.

Key responsibilities

* To manage and develop a team of finance staff.

* To assist and advise the Director of Finance in drawing up budgets for the group

* To produce monthly accounts of actual results against the phased budget for distribution to all budget managers and report significant variances to the managers and the Director of Finance.

* Monitor income and expenditure on a regular basis to ensure that budgets are not compromised, reporting as necessary to the relevant budget manager and the Director of Finance.

* Produce financial management reports as required and the monthly dashboard.

* Support development of new systems and be a port of call for any operational IT issues.

* To assist the Director of Finance in the production of the draft accounts for the group in preparation for the annual audit.

* Work with the Director of Finance and the Accounts Manager to ensure the smooth operations of the Finance department on a day to day basis.

Key requirements

* Accountancy qualification, or working towards it

* Full membership of the Association of Accounting Technicians

* Use of accounting software and Microsoft Office software

* Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with staff and clients
