My client is a leader within the Automation and Control Systems field with operations in 100 countries worldwide. They specialise in providing integrated automation solutions to industrial projects in the UK, offshore and overseas.

The role:

As an expert consultant, you will work with clients in a variety of sectors & sites, which could vary from chemical plants, oil rigs, steel plants etc. This gives you a unique opportunity to develop your skills as a consultant as you’re facing a variety of issues on a weekly basis. The 3 core areas you’ll need to tackle in relation to cyber security are: human factors, compliance and asset cyber security. Your day to day tasks will differ but areas of expertise they are looking for are penetration testing, security analysis & security architecture.

Working with the company’s existing client base in addition to developing your own, you’ll consultant with clients to understand their challenges, conduct a gap analysis before determining solutions. You will interact with internal teams in Germany to test the robustness of existing security measures and maintain client contact throughout.

The Package:

+ £50k-65k basic salary (negotiable and depending on experience)

- Develop relationships with external suppliers of systems testers

- Liaising with prospective clients and building relationships

- Configuration, commission & review of firewalls, switches, security update services, application whitelisting, secure remote access, SIEM and other security related hardware and software

- Undertake detailed GAP analysis & developing solutions

- Evaluate control systems to industry & customer standards (ie IEC62443)

- Present concept work to customers


+ IT related degree, ideally with a focus on security
+ Extensive experience within Industrial Automation sector
+ Expertise in Windows, product related knowledge with security devices, software, networking and virtualization
+ Knowledge in relevant security standards including IEC62443 / ISA99 all parts

+ Must be able to travel within UK and overseas
+ Experience implementing security within an industrial control system environment and understanding of the differences between security for IT and OT
+ Certified in TISP, CISM, CISA, CISSP, ISO27001 and others.
+ Professional consulting experience (or similar relevant experience of advising and delivering technical solutions to Customers)
