£23ph (+£1ph Retention Bonus)

Hours:

Monday – Friday:

2-week alternate shift patterns:

Earlies: 05:45 – 16:15

Lates: 15:45 – 02:15

50+ HOURS A WEEK

Contract Length: Initial requirement 5 months with a good chance of follow on work until early 2020.

Start date: ASAP

Client Summary:

The Shorterm Group is a Rolling Stock Recruitment specialist and provides staffing solutions for clients across the Industry. One of our clients is a leader in railway rolling stock engineering and enhancement. They run a number of projects across the UK and specialize in improving Rail Vehicle performance and utilization.

This is one of the most lucrative opportunities in the UK in the rolling stock market, installing state of the art regenerative braking systems to rolling stock.

Position Summary

We require the skilled mechanical technicians & fitters to join the existing team on site. Candidates will be working with a variety of trades and be responsible for strip out and refit of underframe braking modules in line with specification.

All candidates MUST be able to read engineering drawings & schematics. Candidates will be working an alternating shift pattern; 2 weeks on earlies, 2 weeks on lates.

Working on the underframes of the 442 fleet of trains you will be stripping out and refitting Mechanical components including bogeys and wheel sets.

Person Profile/Experience:

Successful Candidates will be able to demonstrate the following;

• Relevant work experience within the Rolling Stock, Marine or Aerospace industries.

• You will hold relevant Engineering Qualifications

• You will be a highly self-motivated individual, able to work under your own initiative.

• You will possess excellent communication & interpersonal skills.

• You will ideally have knowledge of modern rolling stock systems

• You will ideally have experience of Train depot operations

Qualifications & Skills:

Relevant NVQ, C&G, BTEC level 3 in Mechanical engineering or time-served.

Also an ability to read and understand engineering drawings and to work unsupervised once they have an understanding of what is required.
