Key Account Manager (KAM)



Overview of the Key Account Manager role: This is an exciting career opportunity to join our client's team as they enter their next stage of growth and development. This role is a vital one in the growth of the business and focussed on increasing business from Key Accounts, winning new Key Accounts and growing their spend with with the client.

Key Responsibilities: As Key Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing key accounts, generating new business sales on targeted accounts, and increasing current revenue in line with business targets. As well as:

• Meet set targets for revenue and margin.

• Develop and manage relationships with key accounts.

• Gain a clear understanding of customers businesses and requirements.

• Develop and carry out business sales plan for increasing revenue and margin at targeted customers.

• Cold calling to potential key accounts to prospect for new business.

• Liaising with suppliers to check the progress of existing orders

• Negotiating pricing with suppliers

Experience and Qualifications required for the Key Account Manager:

The successful candidate will be a well-presented sales 'hunter’ with strong leadership skills. You will be a team player, who is also able to work independently. You’ll be a proactive self-starter with good attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

You will have: • 2 years+ experience in an IT business-to-business sales environment (ideally with a reseller selling to end users) • Solid sales background, with demonstrable success in meeting targets • Ability to build relationships at senior management level. Experience as a Key Account Manager is not essential.
