Boxtree Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced and talented BI / SQL Developer who is experienced within the insurance industry supported by a strong SQL / ETL development background and experience within a DataMart / data warehouse environment utilising data visualisation tools such as MS Power BI, QlikView or Tableau. This exciting opportunity is working for a respected business that specialises in providing Insurance data solutions.

Please note it is essential that applicants are experienced within the Insurance sector.

Responsibilities

* Provide BI technical guidance to assist the business and our clients in developing dimensional and relational data models that are accurate, efficient and robust and maintenance on production, test and development databases

* Maintain and create tables, views, stored procedures and functions using sql server

* Plan, design and create new data storage

* Write new and optimise existing sql scripts

* Development of the data warehouse and review of current DW to recommend future design

* Monitor Database server performance and capacity, and recommend improvements when needed

* Full lifecycle of data warehouse developments including analysis. Design, testing and implementation

* Reporting and dashboard development with PowerBI / Tableau

* Liaise with clients closely to gather BI requirements and help turn those into first class reports, dashboards and insight for business decision making

* Hands on turnaround of POC solutions working in SQL, cloud databases and new and existing data technology platforms

* Produce SQL scripts to extract, analyse and manipulate large volumes of data

* Support testing and reconciliation to ensure that the data is to the required standard

Experience required

* Insurance Experience is essential

* Experience of using SQL servers in a data warehousing environment

* Strong SQL skills including querying, building stored procedures, tables and views

* Experience of using SSIS

* Experience of working with diverse data sets and data types

* Passion for technology and an eagerness to learn

* Ability to work in a fast-paced, constantly-changing environment while maintaining a strong eye for detail

* Experience of working with and developing data warehouses is essential

* Understanding of data warehousing concepts including dimensional and relational modelling

* Experience in any of the following front-end reporting systems

* Expert knowledge of ETL and T-SQL knowledge, scripting skills and ability to understand and create complex stored procedures, views, data aggregations and manipulations through table joins, queries, databases design and normalisation / denormalization techniques

* Expert knowledge of Microsoft SQL server integration services (SSIS) and SQL server administration (Apply online only))

* Required Tech Skills: ( BI / data warehouse developer, SQL server 2016, cloud, AWS, SSRS, SSIS, MS Azure SSAS (PowerBI. Tableau or Qlikview), Redshift, MySQL, APIs, SQL for ETL, Business intelligence /Datawarehouse technologies, engineer, architect, consultant
