We are looking for a skilled Bookkeeper to manage the day to day financial requirements of a niche construction industry supplier.

This is a passionate and lively team dedicated to building a great brand.

This position is based out its Manchester offices and the business operates out of three regional locations spanning the UK but any travel between them is expected to be minimal.

The business has a local firm of accountants to produce monthly management and yearly accounts so the primary function of this position is to oversee everything finance related up to this. Potentially the opportunity exists further down the line to assume greater responsibility from the accounting firm.

Responsibilities

* Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process

* Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct day book, suppliers ledger, customer ledger and general ledger

* Maintain our financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts and payments

* Bring the books to the trial balance stage

* Enter data, maintain records and lunch reports and financial statements

* Process accounts receivable/payable in a timely manner

Requirements:

* Proven bookkeeping experience

* Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles

* Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records

* Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers

* Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and accountancy software

* High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

* Accountancy qualification is a plus but AAT and/or QBE (qualified by experience) is fine

* Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures

* Experience with general ledger functions

* Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills

Working hours- Monday to Friday, 09:00 am-17:00 pm

Benefits:

* Salary of £25,000-£33,000 (depending on experience)
