Overview of Role:

Senior Project Manager providing ECC Project Management duties on a new build strategic highway project in the Caernarfon area of North Wales. The role will also require commercial and programme aspects, as required by the ECC contract, and an in-depth understanding of highways civil engineering is necessary.


Will be responsible for the NEC ECC Project Manager duties. Alongside this, will also be required to work closely with the Employer and delivery team during the contract duration with offering advice and support for the scheme beyond the ECC contract.

Person Specification:

• You will have experience of taking a substantial role in delivery of medium to large projects (£10m to £100m+) in the Highway Sector.
• Experience in administration of NEC Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) contracts.
• Proven project management and delivery skills, particularly with ECC form of contracts.
• Sound knowledge and insight of civil engineering / construction industry technical matters, such as value engineering proposals and alternative solutions.
• Demonstrate experience of stakeholder influence and management.
• Experience of managing the financial aspects of projects.
• Technical understanding of project elements and pre & post contract matters.
• Ability to lead and work in multidisciplinary teams.
• Be able to articulate current issues specific to the sector and market.
• Demonstrate high quality oral and written communications (reports, instructions etc.).

What You have to Offer:

• Undertake contact administration with regards to the ECC form of contract.
• Development of project documentation, programmes, budgets etc.
• Maintain a robust document management system.
• Produce reports to suit relevant stages of the project.
• Comply with Arcadis governance.
• Deliver projects within the framework of risk, sustainability and environmental considerations agreed at the business case/client brief stage, while maintaining focus on time, cost and quality.
• Monitor and report on the contractor’s progress against the contract programme.
• Manage consultant teams to ensure that the contractor’s design is carried out in compliance with the contract.
• Experience in the NEC3 suite of contract documents and managing target cost contracts.
• Experience and understanding of the statutory process in relation to delivering a highways scheme from pre-contract, the construction stage and close out.
• Cost and programme controls experience with an understanding of Microsoft Project and Primavera P6.

Professional and Educational Requirements:

• Relevant degree and membership of relevant professional bodies.
• Chartered Civil Engineer –CEng MICE (or equivalent)
