Junior IT Support Analyst

Salary: £18,000

The Role:

  • Provide administrative support across the I.T department; Ticket Management, Purchase Order Management, Documentation of knowledge
  • Remain neutral under pressure and provide necessary support without being intrusive
  • Focus on tasks in hand, always putting the business’ interests first
  • Prioritising and managing the main & personal ticket queue of technical support issues, changes and requests
  • All tickets to be updated with email logs and work logs which accurately reflect the time taken to action, accounting for 8 hours of your day
  • Keeping internal clients updated in a timely fashion
  • Handling requests from 1st line to 2nd line queries and escalating as necessary to the Infrastructure team
  • Carrying out desktop support tasks which involves physical checks of cables, hardware, network connectivity etc. including desk moves, involving physically moving desks and equipment, sometimes out of hours compensated with time in lieu
  • Carrying out documentation for transfer or knowledge and where possible documentation to be used to train other members of the team when agreed with Manager
  • Alert IT & Infrastructure Manager of regularly occurring faults or major incidents which need deeper investigation or urgent resolution
  • Working together as a team, providing support to peers and seniors where possible
  • Communicating with manager regularly to ensure business objectives are being met by individual
  • Assist the Service Desk Manager with creating & executing project plans while communicating regularly on assigned projects
  • Manage a positive presence, motivating self and inspiring others
  • Be proactive in expanding knowledge of the business and skills in line with departmental, organisational, and staff requirements
  • Working closely with colleagues who are also instructed to maintain a steady transfer of knowledge to ensure the department runs smoothly
  • Be self-sufficient and find/provide solutions to problems, while documenting as required and training end users
  • Maintain a professional approach and polite attitude with all stakeholders internal & external, ensuring excellent customer satisfaction levels are achieved
  • Agree key deliverables, outcomes and timescales at every point within a project with the relevant support line
  • Ensure that policies, procedures and reporting systems are adhered to
  • Immediately report to manager any dissatisfaction portrayed by customer base, with intended solution to rectify
  • Management of reporting, phone system, Eclipse, business security and hardware
  • Technologies you will be working with: Server 2008/2012, Active Directory, ManageEngine, Exchange 2010, HYPER-V, Basic Networking, Office 2010/2013

  • You take an interest in industry wide news, developments and market changes, with a desire to learn and further knowledge.
