SEND Teaching Assistant

Cheshire – Runcorn and Widnes

£60-£80 per day

Eden Brown Education is currently working with 2 large double form entry Primary Schools in Cheshire to recruit a Level 3 Teaching Assistant / LSA with specific experience in working with pupils in KS2 with additional needs due to ADHD, ASD, SEBD amongst others.

These schools work with a specific emphasis on the nurture model and have a very therapeutic approach to their pupils.

They pride themselves on providing a stimulating, safe environment, which is combined with an engaging, varied, personalised curriculum. They offer a flexible and adaptive approach that is rooted in meeting the individual needs of each and every learner in order to develop and maintain an ethos where education is unquestionably valued by both students and staff.

We are looking for candidates who:

- Have the ability to work both on a 1:1 basis with pupils as well as support the teacher with the whole class

- Have experience of working with pupils who are likely to display behaviours associated with ADHD and SEBD

- Are able to motivate and engage children in their learning and personal development

- Provide regular and effective feedback to targeted pupils and give next steps for learning through consistent use and updating of their EHCP

- Have a resilient mind-set and a positive approach when faced with challenging situations

The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, calm, meticulous, nurturing professional with an aspiration to further the learning opportunities and independence of all students. You will need to be an excellent communicator who is creative in their approach, with a high level of empathy and patience in order to provide effective behaviour management strategies.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Level 3 qualification is Supporting and Learning in Schools

- Ideally you will be Team Teach trained, or though not essential

- Excellent communication skills both written and oral

- Demonstrable levels of literacy and numeracy

- Familiarity with the needs of pupils with learning differences such as ASD, Anxiety, ADHD, SEBD, SEMH
